Venice is unique in the world — a lagoon city without cars, of Gothic and Byzantine palaces, gondolas and canals, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By private jet, Marco Polo airport (VCE) is 15 minutes by private water taxi from St Mark’s Square, or 8 minutes by helicopter. It is one of the most spectacular arrivals in private aviation — landing in Venice, stepping aboard a water taxi, gliding up the Grand Canal beneath the Doge’s palaces with the Salute in sight: an unforgettable welcome sequence. Venice is 1h20 from Paris and 45 minutes from Milan by jet.
flight_takeoffBook a flightThe private jet clientele in Venice is that of grand occasions and prestigious events: the Art Biennale (June–November, odd years), the Architecture Biennale (even years), the Venice Film Festival (Mostra, late August–early September on the Lido), the Venice Carnival (February), and private balls in Grand Canal palaces hosted by patrician families or luxury brands. The villas and palaces of the Veneto (Palladio) are accessible within 45 minutes from VCE.
Venetian gastronomy is a revelation — far beyond tourist clichés: cicchetti (small bites) in the bacari of Castello, risotto al nero di seppia, sardines in saor, and haute cuisine at Cipriani (Giudecca) and Oro Restaurant (Hotel Baglioni Luna). The Peggy Guggenheim Collection on the Grand Canal, Ca’ d’Oro and Ca’ Rezzonico, and the gilded mosaics of St Mark’s Basilica illuminated in the evening for private groups are experiences beyond compare.

All your questions about private jets to Venice
From Marco Polo (VCE), three options: the private water taxi (taxi boat) reaches the St Mark's landing in 15–20 minutes across the lagoon — the most spectacular arrival; a private helicopter from VCE lands on the Giudecca helipad in 8 minutes; the Alilaguna (public express shuttle) is the least expensive but takes 45 minutes. For VIP groups, the private water taxi is the only choice.
Between £6,500 and £13,000 one way, a 1h20 flight. During the Biennale and the Mostra (Film Festival), VCE slots are in high demand — book 6 weeks in advance. The Carnival (late January–mid-February) also generates strong demand for jets from Paris, Milan, and Gulf capitals.
Aman Venice (Palazzo Papadopoli, 16th century, Grand Canal) is the most exclusive address — 24 suites only, original frescoes, secret garden. The Cipriani (Giudecca, facing St Mark's) is larger but equally legendary — heated outdoor pool, Oro restaurant, private shuttle to San Marco. The Gritti Palace (on the Grand Canal) is the choice of Hemingway and the great Venetian families.
Yes — Palladio's Villa La Rotonda (Vicenza, 45 min from VCE) and Villa Barbaro at Maser (50 min, Veronese frescoes) are masterpieces accessible by appointment. The ASAC (Palladian Villas Association) arranges private out-of-hours visits for VIP groups. A Palladian circuit from Venice is a unique architectural experience.
The Venice Art Biennale (June–November, odd years) is held at the Giardini and the Arsenale. The vernissages (first 3 days in June) are by invitation — book your jet and accommodation from March. Grand Canal palaces host parallel exhibitions in national pavilions. Staying at the Aman or Cipriani during the vernissage is the ultimate Biennale experience.
Venice is unparalleled for its unique physical setting, prestigious celebrations (Carnival, Biennale, Mostra), and dreamlike atmosphere — but can be seen in 2 days. Florence is richer in museums (Uffizi, Accademia, Bargello), gastronomy, and the Chianti vineyards. For a 3-day weekend, Venice + Florence (50 min by air) offers the ideal combination.
