Strasbourg is the capital of the European Parliament — an exceptionally well-preserved medieval city at the heart of Alsace, straddling the border between France and Germany. Its Entzheim Airport (SXB) welcomes MEPs, diplomats and lobbyists by private jet who shuttle between Paris, Brussels and Frankfurt. At 55 minutes from Paris Le Bourget, it is the most accessible European city by light jet from the French capital.
flight_takeoffBook a flightBeyond politics, Strasbourg is a major gastronomic and cultural stopover: the Alsatian vineyards extend 15 km from the airport, Notre-Dame Cathedral dominates the UNESCO-listed Grande Île, and the local culinary scene (choucroute, baeckeoffe, tarte flambée) has starred ambassadors such as Le Buerehiesel by Éric Westermann (3 stars). Strasbourg’s Christmas market, “the oldest and most beautiful in Europe”, draws jets from Berlin, Zurich and London every December.
For companies in the Strasbourg–Freiburg–Basel triangle (Basel is 45 min by road), Entzheim Airport is a credible alternative to Basel-Mulhouse (BSL) for business rotations along the Rhine axis. Zurich is 45 min by air, Munich 1h05 — frequent connections for Franco-German-Swiss industrial groups.

Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport (SXB) is 15 minutes from the European Parliament and the historic city centre. It has a general aviation terminal with FBO. From Paris Le Bourget, the flight takes 55 minutes. From Zurich or Geneva, allow 45 minutes. The airport is open 7 days a week.
Berlin is 1h30 by air, London Farnborough 1h20. These connections are frequent during European Parliament sessions. From Amsterdam or Brussels, allow 55 minutes by light jet.
December for the Christmas Market (the most visited in Europe, 2 million visitors) is the magical time. June–July for the blossoming Wine Route. September for the Alsatian harvest. European Parliament sessions (one week per month) create a peak in institutional demand.
An excellent base — Colmar (45 km), Riquewihr (60 km), Ribeauvillé (60 km) and Kaysersberg (80 km) are the most picturesque Alsatian villages, reachable by car in 45–60 min from SXB. The Wine Route is best explored by chauffeured car.
Basel-Mulhouse (BSL) is better positioned for southern Alsace (Mulhouse, Colmar) and Switzerland. Strasbourg-Entzheim (SXB) is superior for northern Alsace, the European Parliament and Strasbourg itself. For a stay centred on the Wine Route, both are equivalent.
The Wine Route begins at Marlenheim, 20 min from SXB. Riquewihr, Hunawihr and Bergheim — the most photogenic villages — are 60–70 km away. A private chauffeur with knowledge of the producers can arrange tastings at the cellars from €200/hour.
