The Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg (late November–24 December, Hauptmarkt) is the most famous and one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany (since 1628). It brings together 200 stalls of Lebkuchen, hand-painted wooden toys and local crafts around the Gothic fountain of the Hauptmarkt. Very busy but authentic — the medieval atmosphere is unmatched. Arrive by jet on a weekday to avoid packed weekends.
NUE is 20 minutes from Munich (MUC) by light jet, 45 minutes from Stuttgart (STR) and 1h from Frankfurt (FRA/QEF). These intra-German routes are frequent for Siemens and Schaeffler teams travelling between their various production sites and headquarters.
